Loss adjusters are independent claims specialists who assist in the fair and just settlement of claims, including complex or contentious claims, on behalf of insurance companies. They help policyholders restore their property to full working order.
Loss Adjusting
As Loss adjusters we investigate insurance claims arising out of losses such as car accident, marine, fires, riot & strike, lighting, flood, theft, burglaries, house braking etc. Our Adjusters evaluate the amount of loss/damage covered by the respective perils of insurance policy.
The loss amount would be determined by considering the current market price. However, we negotiate with the policyholder about salvage value (if any) and make our final assessment on the claim. Finally, the loss adjuster's report submitted to the insurance company to enables the company to process the claim without delay. Our Adjusters make recommendations regarding payment of benefits, based on the coverage noted on the insurance policy and negotiate payment and settlement.
The work:
As loss adjuster, we would typically:
- Visit sites to survey the loss/damage property.
- We take pictures of losses/damages from various angles including insured’s premises/factory/ godown/warehouse/mill etc.
- Interview with the concerned parties about the claim.
